The Treehouse
MOSAIC's current house is known as the Treehouse. Sitting just south of downtown Evanston on Elmwood Avenue, the Treehouse is especially well-situated for easy access to public transportation. Both the Davis L station and the Davis Metra (UPN) station are less than three blocks north, and the Dempster L station is less than two blocks south. Pace's 250, 201, and 213 bus routes do run close by, but within 10 minutes walking distance is a Jewel-Osco, express Target, CVS pharmacy, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods.
During its first 5 years, the Treehouse has been home to an eclectic variety of undergraduates, graduate students, and young working adults.

Community
A fun evening of board games; a thoughtful dinner-time discussion of current events; a table of co-opers excitedly planning a trip to the farmer's market; the building anticipation before a favorite vegetarian meal. What do all these scenarios have in common? They can all be found in the Treehouse!
Rooms & Amenities
The Treehouse features three floors, each with its own bathroom and kitchen. The first floor has a spacious dining room and living room complete with plenty of comfy couches and projector perfect for our big-screen movie nights. Additionally, the house has a sizable storage space in its basement. The basement's laundry room includes one washer and one dryer.
Outside, the house’s two-car garage and driveway provide ample parking space for members with both cars and bikes. Nestled around back is a small backyard where we have a vegetable garden, table & chairs, and a fire pit that we put to good use with plenty of bonfire hangouts in the Summer and Fall.
The Treehouse provides space for a total of 11 people, all in single rooms. All rooms come furnished with, at minimum, a bed/mattress.
We prefer to keep the house clean and inviting, and value maintenance and improvement. Two of the bathrooms were just ronovated in September and November 2021. As of April 2022, our latest project has been leveling staining and sealing our dining room and coffee tables.
